WhatsApp didn't give you the option to download the images/Videos from Status directly to gallery.


Follow the steps to save/download WhatsApp Status.




Use File Manager to Download WhatsApp status photos/videos on your Mobile:

This method doesn't need any Application but you will need a File Manager on your device

Steps to download/save WhatsApp Status in Gallery

Note: The Statuses folder is usually Hidden.


  1. In every Android device you will have File Manager App
  2. Open file manager and from the settings turn on “Show hidden files” option.
  3. Go to WhatsApp Folder in some devices it can be found under “Phone Storage”
  4. Open the WhatsApp folder and now Tap on Media
  5. In most devices you can find a folder with the name “.Statuses” which will save the Status video/photos which you have seen.
  6. Then Copy/move which status video / photo you want to See in Gallery. 
  7. Now You can view the Status anytime later or share it with your friends.
